I hear voices. . .

For most people that would be frightening, but for me. . .well, I love it.

If you’re on this page, then you probably want to know all about me.  Admittedly, it is one of my favorite subjectssmile, but in the essence of interest and space, I’ll give you the condensed version.

I was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta.  After, graduating from college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science and a Master’s Degree in Education, I taught high school for ten years.  It was during those years that I excelled in sponsoring cheerleading, chairing homecoming committees, directing mock trials and the list goes on.  Oh and yeah. . .I was a pretty good teacher, too.  I made history come alive.  I didn’t teach facts, I told stories.  When teaching vocabulary I didn’t simply call out words and have students spell and write the definitions, I embedded the words into stories I’d written about kings and knights and the fight for good over evil.  Do you see where this is going?

Since teaching, I’ve done a variety of jobs, but the one constant has been my love for reading and my desire to write stories.  In 1998, I decided to go for it and I wrote my first saga.  Okay, so what if it does occupy space under the bed?  The point is I wrote a book and I was hooked.  So, yes, I hear voices.  Some may call it an overactive imagination.  I prefer to think of it as characters waiting in the wings, and not always patiently, for me to tell their story.

At the moment I divide my time between working outside of the home, writing, and traveling with my husband of eighteen years.  I am a member of the Romance Writers of America, as well as my local chapter the Magnolia State Romance Writers, where I’ve served as Secretary and as President.
